In the sulphate process for titanium dioxide production, aluminium paste can be used as a reducing agent during the purification or bleaching stage. The treatment helps convert residual iron impurities into a more soluble form, supporting their removal from the titanium-containing intermediate before calcination.

AVL offers selected aluminium paste preparations for this application. Product selection depends on the specific process conditions and customer requirements and should be validated in the production process.
