Silver Aluminium pigments for Screen printing:

offers the advantage of being suitable for a very wide range of surfaces such as paper, cardboard, plastic, leather, textile, glass and metal. Even non-flat surfaces and substrates can easily be printed. We recommend using grades with a D90 value which is 3 times smaller than the screen mesh size. Our SPARAL and DIPAL grades accentuate the glitter and sparkle in the end product while our SPRAYAL range delivers more opacity.

Silver Aluminium pigments for Offset printing:

is an indirect printing process in which an inked image is transferred from a plate to a rubber blanket and then to a flat substrate. The process requires extremely small particle sizes in the 3-8 micron range. We recommend our MIRAL grades.

Silver Aluminium pigments for Flexo and Gravure printing:

coarser particles can be used (up to 14 microns). The pigments are odor-free due thanks to the unique dry milling process. This parameter is important for e.g. food packaging. We recommend our MIRAL grades.

Silver Aluminium pigments for can coatings:

our MIRAL and FINAL grades in powder or paste form provide the highest level of barrier protection in epoxy phenolic formulations and others. The product range combines functionality with an appealing metallic effect. The finesse and uniformity of the particles ensures optimum coverage and electrical conductivity. Measuring the porosity in the interior food can coatings is one of the most important tests for can coating producers. In this test electric current is passed through the coating and expressed in mA. For aluminium pigmented coatings the standard is set to max 10 mA. Pigments in powder form deliver the best results in concealing imperfections in the metal of food and beverage cans through coatings.

Silver Aluminium pigments for powder coatings:

in a powder coating film, the leafing aluminium pigments migrate towards the surface. This mechanism delivers the highest metallic brilliance and gloss. Compared to coarser particles, finer particles bring a more defined chrome effect due to their higher mobility during the curing process. Our grades are best suited for the free blending process. The pigment can be mixed directly with the monomer in a 2-5% concentration. For improved scratch and corrosion resistance we recommend overcoating leafing metallic finishes with a protective clear coat.

Silver Aluminium pigments for aerosol spray cans:

our SPRAYAL grades are ideal for the aerosol spray can market. The rule of thumb for the use of metallic pigments in aerosol spray cans is that the opening of the nozzle should be at least 3 times larger than the D90 particle size of the metallic pigment in the formulation.

painting by immersion in a dip paint is a widely used technique with various substrates made of paper, wood, metal, plastics, terracotta, … but also with flowers and plants. The 2-pack water-based system eliminates the use of hazardous solvents and offers:

Silver Aluminium pigments can easily resist temperatures up to 240 °C for 30 minutes. Therefore they are often used in Masterbatches to give the metallic feeling. Often used in combination with colors, our SPARAL grades produce sparkle whereas our FINAL and MIRAL grades bring opacity.

Silver Aluminium pigments for IR-light & heat reflection

Leafing aluminium pigments applied in e.g. roof coatings, agricultural foils, reflect light in a broad spectrum of wavelengths. The photochemical degradation of the organic matrix in coatings and substrates is reduced. The reflection of IR light prevents the underlying substrates from heating. The energy consumption for cooling can be reduced. In PU foam or in other insulation materials, aluminium pigments can help to reflect heat and reduce energy loss.
